BRTA Fees for Motorcycles

The showroom price is not what a bike costs you. Registration, the number plate, the certificate and the first road tax land on top, and BRTA publishes the total by engine size and weight. This section sets out what it publishes.

In 2026 BRTA's citizen charter puts the total payable when a new motorcycle is registered between Tk 9,291 and Tk 12,073, depending on the engine and whether the bike weighs more than 90 kg. After that, road tax is paid every two years. Transferring a used bike into your name costs a third of the registration fee, plus the VAT BRTA's charter adds. Every bike page on this site now shows the band its own published weight and engine size put it in.
