The bracket where you have to decide what you want
Below this budget the choice is mostly made for you: you buy the most sensible commuter you can afford. Here it opens up. The same money buys a fully faired sports bike, a naked street bike, a well specified scooter or a very good commuter, and those are genuinely different machines rather than the same bike in different clothes.
The honest question is how much of your riding is commuting. If the answer is almost all of it, a faired sports bike will be the least comfortable and the most expensive to repair after a car door opens on it. If you ride out of the city regularly, it stops being an indulgence.
What three lakh should buy you here
At this level expect fuel injection as standard, a disc at both ends on many models, and ABS on a good number of them. Liquid cooling becomes common rather than exceptional. This is roughly the point where the specification stops being the limiting factor and your own preference takes over.

It depends on how much of your riding is commuting. A faired bike is less comfortable in traffic and more expensive to repair after a knock. Out of the city it earns its keep.
Should I expect ABS under three lakh?
