Key figures
"For the class" means measured against the 46 other bikes on this site within 40 cc of this one. It is arithmetic against our own catalogue, not an opinion, and it changes as the catalogue grows.
What this bike is
The Shine 100 DX costs Tk 6,000 more than the plain Shine 100 and, on Honda's two sheets, shares its 98.98 cc engine, 7.29 PS and 7.81 Nm, its four gears and its drums. The published differences are a 10 litre tank against 9, a five step adjustable rear suspension, a halogen headlamp, 1 kg more weight and a body 40 mm shorter. The plain Shine's sheet lists a combined braking system on its front drum; the DX's does not, which is worth a direct question at the showroom. Against Bajaj's Platina 100 ES at Tk 17,350 more, the DX is 15 kg lighter and carries 1.5 litres less.
Who it suits. Shine buyers who want the adjustable rear suspension and the extra litre, and will confirm the brakes.
Written in September 2026 from Honda's own published figures, which are in the specification table on this bike's spec page. We have not ridden it and we do not pretend to have.
Good and less good
In its favour
- Light for the class at 101 kg.
Against it
- Modest for the class at 7.19 bhp.
- Honda does not mention ABS on its own specification sheet for this model, so we cannot confirm it either way.
Every point here is read off the manufacturer's published figures or off a comparison with the other bikes on this site. None of it comes from riding the motorcycle, because we have not.
