Why 165

Imported motorcycles have long been capped at 165 cc in Bangladesh, which is why so many models here stop at or just under that size. The rule has changed more than once and treats importing, assembling and registering differently, so before buying anything above 165 cc, have the dealer state the registration position on paper and check it against BRTA's own answer.

Current bikes and older entries

Bajaj's four Pulsar N160 models measure 164.82 cc, so they sit here with Runner's Bolt 165R and Honda's 162.71 cc SP 160 Single Disc, SP 160 Double Disc ABS and XBlade as the bikes taken from their makers' current figures, along with Lifan's KPR 165R Carburetor, KPR 165R FI, KP165 4V and K19, which share a sheet quoting 17 BHP and 17 Nm, and without prices GPX's two Demon 165s and Taro's Ranger, quoted at 21.5 BHP, the most in the class. The two SP 160s and the XBlade share an engine, quoted at 12.9 PS in the SP and 13.9 PS in the XBlade, which also states ABS. The N160s share 16 PS and 154 kg and differ in brakes, forks and fuel system; Runner's sheet for the Bolt 165R gives no brake details at all. The other four, the 165s from Roadmaster, H-Power, Keeway and Benelli, are older catalogue entries whose prices have not been confirmed recently. On those figures Benelli's 165S is quoted at the most power, 18 bhp, and is the only one recorded as water cooled; and Keeway's RKR 165 carries the most fuel in the class, 15 litres.
